Work Trade Program

The work trade/retreat program offers students the opportunity to
connect more deeply with themselves and the 'aina (spirit of the land)
through becoming engaged in ongoing projects at Kipukamaluhia. As well
as supporting the sanctuary it helps individuals gain strength and
confidence while learning valuable gardening, building and landscaping
skills. It also benefits the daily practice of mindfulness and allows one
to be an integral part of this unfolding sanctuary.

It is an invitation to experience the inseparability of the living dharma
and everyday life and to cultivate nondual and ecological awareness.
Retreatants work 20 hours per week and pay $25 per month
in exchange for lodging.  Those staying in tents receive one
private session per week with Rashani. All guests buy their
own food and prepare their meals.

Non work trade guests pay $50 per night; $300 per week.

We do not provide phone, internet, or laundry service. The only cell phones
that have reception here are Cingular. For those who bring a laptop, high
speed internet access is available for $20 per month. You will need a small
inverter with which to recharge your laptop as we are off the grid.

Work trade guests are taken into Na'alehu or Ocean View twice a week,
to do laundry, make calls, check e-mails and for food shopping. (There is
an internet café in Na'alehu, open Monday through Friday, 1 to 5 p.m.)

Please bring a good flashlight or crank lantern*, a pillow and sleeping bag,
work clothes, a hat, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, warm clothes for cool
evenings and mornings, a rain coat, refillable water bottle, and snorkeling
gear if you intend to snorkel.

No pets, alcohol, cigarettes or drugs...
